The Camber Group
Founded in 1992 as GRP Boat Repairs, The Camber Group is a maritime company based on the UK’s south coast. For 10 years, the name reflected the main source of work coming in - boat repairs working in GRP (glass reinforced plastic). The company has since expanded into house boat builds, superyacht tender refurbishments, and jacuzzi restorations.
With the original name no longer reflecting their broader services, the company sought a full rebrand to better represent its capabilities and future potential.
Our task was to create a new name that encapsulated all the company’s services, and a visual identity that would differentiate them in a competitive market. The new identity would be applied across various touchpoints, including a new website, social media templates, print collateral, and apparel.

Process
We began with a face-to-face discovery session with the client, diving deep into the company’s history, present operations, and future ambitions. This meeting provided us with invaluable insights into the business’s journey, skills, and challenges.
Post-meeting, we created a clarity document summarising our discussions and ensuring alignment with the client’s vision. This document formed the foundation for brainstorming brand names and identity concepts.
We presented three brand name options, each backed by thorough research and rationale. The client and his team chose “The Camber Group,” a name reflecting the company’s broad scope and maritime roots.
With the name settled, we began to develop the logo. The logo inspiration derived from studying boat plans, which presented unique grid structures and guides to work from to create a logo that was bold, graphic and unique.
In the process shot you can see the construction of the ‘C’ and ‘G’ forming. After review, we refined the chosen design, developed a complete visual identity system, including colour palettes, typography, iconography, and various templates.

Iconography
We created a unique set of icons, derived from the logo design, to represent the company’s core services: superyacht tender refits, house boat builds, small yacht and boat repairs, and superyacht pool and jacuzzi restorations. These icons are used across the website and on printed material to help identify the service, as well as enhance the brand’s visual identity, adding a bold and cohesive graphic element.

Website
The new website for The Camber Group was designed to be a modern, user-friendly platform that reflects the sophistication and professionalism of their brand. Built with both aesthetics and functionality in mind, the site showcases their full range of services, including superyacht tender refurbishments, house boat builds, and jacuzzi restorations.
The redesigned website has become a cornerstone of The Camber Group’s digital presence. By featuring recent projects and authentic client feedback, it not only serves as a hub for information but also drives inquiries, builds trust, and enhances their reputation as a leader in the maritime industry.
Key features of the redesign include:
Enhanced Navigation: A streamlined menu structure and intuitive layout allow users to quickly find the information they need.
Responsive Design: The website performs seamlessly across devices, ensuring an optimal experience for users on desktop, tablet, and mobile.
Visual Impact: High-quality imagery, videography and a cohesive visual identity bring the brand to life, highlighting the craftsmanship and expertise behind their work.
SEO Optimisation: The site was optimised for search engines, resulting in higher rankings and increased visibility among competitors.
Engaging Content: Detailed service descriptions, recent project showcases, and client testimonials were strategically included to educate and inspire confidence in prospective clients.
Social Media
As part of The Camber Group's rebrand, we developed a suite of bespoke social media templates that aligned seamlessly with their new identity. These templates were designed to be both visually striking and easy to use, ensuring consistency across all platforms while allowing the team to showcase their services effectively.
We focused on creating content styles that would resonate with their target audience, highlighting their expertise in superyacht tender refurbishments, house boat builds, and jacuzzi restorations. The templates included layouts for announcements, project showcases, testimonials, and industry insights.
With the refreshed visual identity, The Camber Group's social media presence became a powerful extension of their brand. Posts now reflected a professional, modern aesthetic that stood out in the competitive maritime sector, helping them engage with clients and partners globally. This transformation not only enhanced their online visibility but also contributed to increased inquiries and brand recognition across key markets.
Outcome
We delivered a comprehensive suite of brand elements that aligned perfectly with The Camber Group’s vision and goals. Starting with primary and secondary logos, which consisted of graphic shapes and modern typography with subtle curved features, followed by colour palettes, type treatment and application.
The identity was rolled out across the website to make more user-friendly, including improved navigation, responsive design, and enhanced SEO. We created customisable social media templates for consistent and professional posts.
We provided photographic direction to highlight the quality of The Camber Group’s work, and designed eye-catching print collateral such as posters, brochures and business cards, as well as creating branded clothing items to promote brand visibility.
Unique service icons were also created to enhance the visual identity further and to communicate the different capabilities the company offer.
This ongoing project plans to expand with additional marketing materials and digital content, positioning The Camber Group as a leader in the maritime industry, ensuring global recognition and setting them apart from their competition.
